That is a very typical landing at the now closed Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong. I have seen videos that make this one look tame!

Right, in fact that one has been around a long time. Kai Tak was closed because of the 47 degree bank turn on final that filled up so many on board latrines they had to move to make room for the new sewer in Hong Kong.

As Sam Goldwyn would say, in a word,

I don't know if this is true or not, but I've actually heard that go-arounds were not allowed at Kai Tak.... If you couldn't nail it on the first try, you lost your clearance to fly there again..... Or something like that...Again, that could just be a rumour that I heard.....

What's the big deal?? Most of my landings resemble that one....and I'm not talking just about Kai Tak!!
