Is this a terrain bug in FSX?

Recommended Posts

I was on approach and pretty near the ground and was sucked into the ground and crashed as seen in the recorded video below. Hoping to find a solution. Is this a terrain bug?

Yes, the horrible terrain bugs. In tropical areas they can grow to be 50' in height and weigh close to 2,000 pounds. And they are able to suck airplanes right out of the sky....

Or, how about it maybe being a thermal right in front of the runway? There are more of those than the terrain bugs. You might turn on the visual indicator for thermals and see if it's affecting your landing. Otherwise, you'll need to get a big can of RAID for next time the terrain bug appears!

Check the airport's AFCAD elevation. It could also be a problem with a 'flatten' polygon.

Thks guys.

I solved it by creating a new Airport background with flatten and making the boundary much further from the runway threshold. The sucking water probably still there but its very far away so no chance of being suck in during approach and landing. :P
