December 16, 200421 yr hi alli'm interesting in trying my hand at some scenery design, i'd like to update the nyc coastlines to reflect their actuall complexity, piers wharfes and such. i have a very accurate drawing of this, it is in .dwg format. i'd like to get it into scbuild so i can start learning how this stuff works, but i'm not sure how to change my drawing into .map format to import it, anybody know?thanks
December 16, 200421 yr Commercial Member Howdy, well, there can never be enough landscape scenery makers ;-)I'm not familiar with the dwg format or scbuild but I suggest that you head on over to the Scenery Design forum. At the top there's a sticky thread that lists currently available design tools. Also, a specific search for older posts in that forum might bring up something about that specific format. If your own drawings don't work out you can always download high-res orthophotos from TerraServer or other sources (e.g., http://libinfo.uark.edu/GIS/us.asp or http://www.nysgis.state.ny.us/ ) and there are threads in the design forum that describe how to georefernce them for use with scenery design tools.Good luck with your project!Cheers, Holger
