Prepar3D V2- REX Essential+ and ATC Window

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. After looking at the screenshots and reading the discussions about the new P3D I am really tempted to give it a go. However, I remember reading about the ATC window being an issue in V1- what exactly was the problem and is it fixed in V2 (from what I can gather it pops up randomly and is not transparent)? Also, does REX Essential+ work with V2? I heard about the Migration Tool from Flightsim Estonia- can I just install REX through that and not run into any problems?

And one more quick question regarding licenses- Can I buy the 'Professional Developer License' subscription and pay $10 for a month as sort of a 'trial', then Go ahead and get the Academic License if P3D works for me? Would I have any problems going that route? Thanks a lot for any help!

You cant upgrade licenses. They are different installers. If you are ok with reinstalling, then yes, it will work fine.

I think REX needs a one time $5 upgrade fee to use with P3D.

I never had issues in 1.4 with the ATC window but I did read a post a day or so ago saying it's no longer a problem in v2.0.

So take that for what it's worth.

You are better off getting the Academic license right away because LM has a no questions asked 60 days refund policy. If you do a subscription first, you will have lost that money. If you buy the Academic license and ask for a refund if you don't like it, it will have cost you nothing.

That's great to know. I didn't know that you could refund it. Thank you! You just saved me $10.

You're welcome. ^_^
