Help Please!

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I am new to the FSUIPC/WideFS/WideClient/RC4 world.  I recently brought and downloaded these things on a network configuration.  FSUIPC/WideFS is on my fs host computer and Wideclient/RC4 are on the client pc.  WideFS is connecting with Cleint and I see the connection in FSX and the Widecleint.exe.  However, When I open RC4 and load a flight plan and start RC4 I am not seeing anything in fsx.  What am I missing?  Is there something I need to add in the .ini file or is this to do with FSUIPC?

I called attention to a supporter that uses widefs.

In general, do you have a flight loaded and running (at least parked with avionics on) in FSX?

Are your paths set correctly using network names on the FSX workstation (sounds like they are)? Have you run RC with the right-click run as admin property so it has access to FSX? Check your FSX shared folder permissions. Make sure on both the server and client firewalls and anti-virus that RC can get through and establish communications both ways.

Hi,

As you're running RC4 on a separate PC I recommend you use ShowText to see the RC information. That will be much better than a window on the FS screen. You can get it here. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/

Also, follow these instructions pinned in this forum for the correct settings in FSUIPC. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/272752-fsuipc-widefs-showtext-settings-for-rc-43/

Hope that helps.
