Weird Autogen problem

Recommended Posts

Full disclosure... I first installed P3D and installed FTX Global which ran just fine for two days before an odd autogen problem appeared. Today I uninstalled P3D and then re-installed. I loaded up and everything looked good (I think - - didn't fly enough to know for sure). So, installed FTX Global again into the new P3D installation and there the strange autogen problem is again.

In my not so educated guess, it seems some trees are generating in the distance and they are all white boxes. That affect goes away as you get closer and everything seems normal.

At first I thought I might have a corrupt FTX Global install, so I replaced the backup textures. Autogen seemed to go back to normal. I figured I screwed something up while experimenting with different scenery installations so that is why I started over fresh today. My install is completely clean with only the base P3D, FTX Global and the Real Air Duke 1.5 installed

Here's a pic that shows the issue. I'm posting this here to see if there's anyone else out there that might be experiencing this:

All signs point towards something with FTX Global, however I installed it last week and flew it for two days without issue - - then BAM!

Yep, that's the problem. Seems to be more an ORBX issue than P3D at this point, but could be both. Thanks for the link Mazo.

The first thing I do after loading P3D V2 is to set the global texture resolution to minimum then immediately set it back to 4K. This fixes the autogen texture problem.

I've heard that's one thing to try as well as enabling volumetric fog. Both seem to work for some and not for others, but I'll give both a go tonight. Thank you.

I think the volumetric fog was a respose to Orbx sceneries, but It appears to be a fault with those.

Just got home and tried again. Installed FTX Global and the white boxes were there.

Changed texture resolution to 1024, then back to 4096 and boxes were still there.

Checked volumetric fog and BOOM! They are gone. Isn't that special.
