December 23, 200421 yr I hav a Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold joystick which is wearing out.I have a small PC table, and do not have room for a separate throttle, flight stick set-up. I had the Saitek 45 and had to give it up for lack of room.I play mostly IL2 and need the keyboard within hand reach.I have read that their are quality problems with the Logitech products.I am willing to pay up to $80.Any suggestions will be appreciated.Thank you.StannerStanner
December 23, 200421 yr I dont know how complex a joystic you want but I bought a $15.00 Saitek ST90 stick that is awesome. Its got 5 buttons that can easily be assigned different functions through the FS9 joystick menu. Its perfect since I too have the same problem as you:lack of space. To this end the ST90 collapses for storage (the three legs fold up & lock) and the best part is you get a built in digital throttle with 4 LEDs that light up when you throttle up :)Check it:http://salzburg.com.geizhals.at/img/pix/63491.jpgThrottle:http://www.ixbt.com/peripheral/saitek/st90/head.jpg
December 23, 200421 yr Looking at the pictures, I can see those legs breaking really easy. How durable is it??
December 23, 200421 yr Read some review on it. They said the build quality was excellent. With "digital" throttle do you mean it only has four positions? -
December 23, 200421 yr If you want to save yourself a couple of feet of cable, I'd recommend the Logitech Freedom. Have been using it with no problems. Nice and sturdy build.ricardo
December 23, 200421 yr Its very well built! Even the fold-away legs are made of thick solid plastic, Ive caught it on the edge of the table during hard gaming and nothings happened. A disc-shaped thingy locks the legs in place. The throtle has 4 LEDs but functions like the F2 & F3 keys...works the same way. It doesnt have four preset positions, its just the lights on the stick that make it seem that way. The lights come on at each 25% power mark. So the first LED will light up at 25%, the next at 50% etc. Handy if you are doing a go-around in crummy weather - quick glance at the stick LEDs tells you power level! Its a great little stick but if you want more buttons, a throttle *lever* (this has buttons) & force-feedback then its not for you!:)
