December 26, 200421 yr Hello. I am really helping someone can help me with this.I have recently purchaed the throttle quadrant from CH and am having difficulty getting it setup with different maps.I have Control Manager installed and know I'm missing a step but don't know what it is.What I want to do is to have different maps for different aircraft. From what I understand this is totally possible but I'm lost. One particular thing I'm lost on is how to assign each engine to a lever. After creating a map and clicking "download" I can go into FS2004 and click on the correct device. That part is okay. However, when trying to assign, say, engine 1 to a particular lever it won't take. I can click on the area to set the assignmnet but when I go to move the lever I want to use for that parciular engine (or any lever for that matter) nothing is accepted. Is there anyone who would be willing to walk me through this step by step? I haven't been able to find anything that helps. Unfortunately, the documentation that comes with Control Manger just isn't doing it for me. Either that or I missed a step someplace but I don't think so.Any help anyone can provide is greatly apprecaited. Thanks!!!
December 26, 200421 yr I don't use the CH software at all. I just configured mine within fs9 and fsuipc. Within fs9, go to the Options, Controls menu and select Sensitivity. First of all, fs9 for some reason gives all the different levers different null zones and sensitivities (this is why nothing will move the same). Just set each lever to the same sensitivity and null zone. (make sure the ch throttle is selected in the drop-down menu, and the advanced option is selected). I set my sensitivity to half, and null zone to zero. Not sure if this is "best" yet. Once you have them all setup the same, go under Options, Controls and Assignments. Select Joystick axis, then pick your throttle from the pull down menu. Then just find engine 1 axis, click on it, then move the lever you want. Find engine 2 axis and repeat. Then do the same for mixture, and prop rpm, etc. If you have the payware version of fsuipc (highly recommended) you can then calibrate it again there, and setup things like reverse thrust. Hope this helps. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
December 26, 200421 yr I don't have the payware version of FSUIPC so that is out. However, you say "Once you have them all setup the same, go under Options, Controls and Assignments. Select Joystick axis, then pick your throttle from the pull down menu. Then just find engine 1 axis, click on it, then move the lever you want." This is exactly what I had done but when moving the lever I want to assign nothing is actually assigned. It's as if FS9 is not seeing the throttle even though it shows in the list.As far as using Control Manger I think I will have to because I will be using different asignments (maps) for different aircraft. Two engine, three engine, four engine, etc.I can't figure out why it will not accept any lever as an assignment.
