Ice simulations?

Hello! just wondering if the PMDG 777 simulate icing condition and you can actualy see the ice visual? like on wings or window screen if anti ice is off

As the above poster has suggested, pity though would have made it even better.   The f1 king air b200  has a good ice simulation if you happen to turn off the ice protection, sure that other addons  have  as well

The 777 actually does not pick up ice much/often once in flight.

Quite often you find yourself flying in conditions where you would have turned anti ice equipment on if it were a B737, but the 777 Automatic system stays off.

Which tells me it really does not pick up much ice and that the SOP for turning on anti ice equipment manually are quite conservative. (which is ok ofcourse when you dont have a system with ice detectors).

 

Ofcource I have not been able to check outside during flight, nor can you see the wings from inside the cockpit.

But I was told that initially Boeing intended to not install any de-/anti- icing equipment at all!

 

So it is not that unrealistic the way it is now.

 

Also, the windows are heated, so they would never pickup ice either.

 

The only thing I have seen so far is tiny little bit of ice on the Windshield Wipers.
