January 1, 201412 yr Hi, I have track IR PRO 4. In x-plane my head keeps going out of the plane roof! Someone suggested downloading pilot view, so I did and I installed it, and I've read another topic here, but for the life of me I just cant figure it out! Does anyone know what I have to do, to stop my head going out of the plane roof and side walls? Thanks Ian
January 1, 201412 yr I have TrackIR 5 and it will do the same thing .. unless, you adjust the tracking in the software. Without looking at the program this morning, I believe you need to open the tab called advanced tracking or something like that to open the bottom portion of the adjustments window. I uncheck the "mirror" feature and open each section individually (yaw, etc. -- two places) and adjust one at a time after giving the plan a name (other than default). If you level out the center area at the bottom of the scale for a little bit before letting the lines rise at an angle, it will provide a "dead" zone when you are centered which avoids slight movements of the head doing what you describe. As old as I am, I find that in the yaw category, I have to provide more upslope to the lines on the left side after coming out of the "flat" area to allow looking around to the rear in that direction. If you leave "mirrored" checked, it will adjust both sides the same. Once you have made the adjustments, be sure to save them by clicking the "save" icon near the name you gave these settings and also make sure you have assigned this name to the X-Plane (and any others you use) categories in the games list. Also check the block next to the name area once you have finished your settings (again I don't have it running - something like preferred) so that it does not keep going back to default every time you shut down. January 1, 201412 yr Author Nice one and this will solve the issue?! And I do this in the track IR software itself? Then do I use built in TrackIr in x-plane, or leave this deactivated and activate it in pilotview?
January 1, 201412 yr Yes - on both counts. Click on "Advanced Settings" to find the settings I have outlined above and, at least for me, I just use the "built-in" TrackIR stuff in X-Plane. John John Wingold
January 1, 201412 yr Author So I have found the advanced settings. I'm not sure what i'm doing though? How do I limit the roll axis so that my head does not go out of the cockpit? I have no idea what to set?! I've tried clicking 'limit' but to no avail? Ian P.s its actually track IR5 with trackclip pro I have!
January 1, 201412 yr If it's just roll that causes the problem, uncheck roll from the list and that option is not there. I used to leave it unchecked all the time as I couldn't keep my head steady! Again, I don't have it open (not even at that computer) and it seems like there are about six items ticked. Just untick the roll and see what that does for you. John John Wingold
