FS Commander with Q400

is it possible to create and load flight plans via fs commander on this bird? i do not want to spend my time as entering every single waypoints. and i don't have any other programs to create plans

Why not create plans with RoutFinder which generates realworld routes/airways using current Airac data (current cycle 1313). Although it doesn't send to the Q400, it's just a matter of looking waypoint/airways in the FMS. I've been using it since day one of the Q400 release and find a plan only takes a couple of minutes to set up.

So you buy a highly detailed simulation so you can get as close to real as possible.. and they are bored by doing the stuff they have to do in real life?

guys, there are a lot of simmers around there who use route plannig tools to load flight plans. i am not the only one who does that..

and i higly doubt that the pilots enter all these stuff in their every flight. there is a thing called "co-route" in boeing. i don't think pilots like enter same 4 letter words thousands time.

You are correct...that is why they or the company builds/stores the flight plans and uploads them via which ever means applicable....however somebody has to enter them at some point and time.

We currently do not have a any way of implementing FPs from flight planning software...this may be looked at again further down the road.

We use the same FMS on the P-3K2, and yes the pilots do manually 'enter same 4 letter words thousands of times'...do they like it, probably not. But to be honest our pre-flight takes 1.5 hours so entering the route is only a small part of it. and I have never noticed it to be a major 'issue', it is entered, then run through again to check every waypoint, then x-filled.

In the Majestic Q400 you only need to enter a route once, then you can just save it in the FMS for use again later. (Much like the Co Route feature you mention)

Sorry I should have elaborated - You can save your flightplan in on the DATA page - STORE FPL, and load one of your saved routes in the FPL page using copy PLT RTE
