Is it possible to edit KOAK so that ATC routes appropriate traffic to the other runways also?

Featured Replies

I have a problem with KOAK in FS2004. KOAK has two sets of runways roughly parallel to the Intl runway 29/11. These smaller runways(North Field) are 27/09 L&R. Basically the big boys use 29/11 while GA and business jets use the 27/09s. As it is in game ATC only allows for AI traffic for 29/11. This means GA aircraft with approach speeds of only 90kts are backing up the Intl approach. Is it possible to edit FS2004 to have AI and player GA traffic(business jets too) land and depart on the 27s?

yes you need traffic tools, do a search here you will find heaps of information on it and all your q's answered.

Woohoo...THX!!! :-walksmile Also, will this allow for my use of FS Live Traffic? I just want to edit KOAK and set up the 27s as parallel runways like I assume LAX is setup. I just assumed ATC would route the smaller traffic to the smaller runways. I'm hoping to not have to create and set up my own traffic schedules(dynamic or static)into KOAK. I just want KOAK recognized as a airport with simultaneous approaches.

Hi,No, I doubt if it would work with Live Traffic. You would need to create a "fake" airport using AFCAD (called something like XOAK) for the other half of the airport, and reroute the smaller traffic from KOAK to XOAK.The only other thing to do is find an AFCAD for KOAK that uses multiple runways (i.e. the "star" technique). You can look at www.projectai.com and see if they have one.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
