Maintenane Based Failures multiplier.

Featured Replies

Before bombarding the guys at PMDG Support with this question, I wanted to make sure I'm not dreaming.

A while ago, I decided to play around with the SBF Multiplier. I had it set on 100,200,256,512 and 1024 for a while.

By now, I reverted back to 1x, but the airplane seems to spit out a LOT more errors than I would expect for a modern airliner. I do know stuff breaks all the time, but getting multiple fire loop failures etc. on a 6 hour trip, seems a little far-fetched. Does anybody else have this experience, or is it just me?

I certainly haven't seen it.  I'd keep in mind, though, that while it was at those multipliers, the "time" on the parts still accrued.  As such, reverting it to 1x isn't going to reverse that, so you're likely just seeing the results of the earlier higher rate all coming together.

If you want to ensure you're seeing a proper 1x rate, I'd set it to 1x and then service the plane to start fresh.  Otherwise, you're going to have the effects of your previous multiplier changes lurking in the background.

I forgot to mention it, but I have indeed selected the maintenance option a while back. In any case, I'll be keeping an eye on it, and reportmy findings on whether this behavior continues or not.
