PMDG 777 Activation question

Featured Replies

Hello,

I just purchased the PMDG 777 for my Windows 8.1 machine and it has been working great thus far. But, after the first installation I decided to reinstall FXS and the 777 in a specific FSX folder in the C drive that I created (per the recommendation of the PMDG Introduction manual). After the second installation I noticed that it did not ask me to key in the activation code again. The product worked fine, but after reading the manual I saw that it would deactivate the product after an uninstall. After several uninstalls and reinstalls, from running the installer, to removing it from the add/remove tool, I still cannot get that box to reappear asking me to key in the code to activate the product. It still works fine, but my worry is that if my 777 is indeed still deactivated there won't be something that works right down the line. Does the product only activate once after all?

I have no idea exactly what the activation does, so please mind if I sound naïve. I also looked through the forum and couldn't find anything relating to this.

Thanks for the help,

Joel

I don't think it will trigger a reactivation if you install on the same machine. If you format it or change hardware it might cause an activation check. I believe it stores your activation so even if you uninstall / reinstall  that shouldn't require you to reactivate every time. If it wasn't activated then the aircraft wouldn't work properly if at all, so you should be ok.
