Update on U.S. ATC Tower Funding

Featured Replies

Nice that the chairman/chairwomen of the respective appropriations committees in both the U. S. House and Senate got together to sponsor this important aspect of the recently passed 1.1 trillion dollar funding bill.  And to make it even more interesting, these sponsors are from each respective political party.  (note: I did not say "respected"!)  This just add credence to the notion that the shutdowns threatened last year by the executive branch were just to inflict emotional pain in a political sense during last years budget fight.  $140 million out of 1.1 Trillion?  What a ruse that was!  An article in my local Easton, Maryland, newspaper presented some figures to show the importance of the Easton airport to the economic viability of the area, and the importance of the federally funded tower to the airports operation.

This article includes a video with additional information.
