Majestic Q 400 throttle problems

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'm at the bottom of a steep learning curve involving several programs that are all interlinked ,I have recently bought the majestic Q400 ,a Saitek yoke and throttle, a registered copy of fsuipc and I use Opus for weather and cameras.

Firstly Opus uses simconnect for cameras so I have to have enable controllers ticked  in fsx

I've set up fsuipc for the basic flying controls which all seem fine but probably need a bit of fine tuning ,but I'm having real problems setting up the throttles and condition levers.

Because I 've got the enable controller set in fsx ,even though I only have it set in fsuipc  as throttle 1 both throttles move ,throttle 2 only moves throttle 2 but if I increase throttle 1 it moves both throttles. so in the event of say a fire in eng 1 I can't throttle back because it will also decrease eng 2 .

Also I can't find an option in fsuipc for the condition levers .I only have one lever left so I plan to use this lever both condition levers ,Does anyone have a similar setup and can explain or assist in what I need to do to get this part setup properly, also how do I set the throttles up to use the beta range

Many thanks in advance for any help

You can keep controllers enabled in FSX, just make sure that whatever individual axes you assign through FSUIPC are deleted from the FSX controls menu to avoid conflicts. This might be the problem with throttle lever one moving both throttles, if FSX has it asssigned simply as "throttle axis," as that will move all throttles together. The same goes for any joystic or throttle buttons to which you assign key presses through FSUIPC.

Regarding the condition levers, if I recall correctly (I'm not at my FSX PC right now), you are looking for something like "propeller control" in FSUIPC for one axis to controll both at the same time, or "propeller 1/2" etc to set them individually. There are also options called "Axis prop (1/2 etc) set." Don't ask me what the difference is.

Have a look at the FSUIPC documentation and read on how to set up profiles for individual aircraft types - and even individual paints. This way your controls can be set appropriately for every aircraft you use.

The Majestic documentation explains how to use their set-up utility to calibrate your controls. If you get stuck, try the Majestic and FSUIPC fora, as well as back here.

PD

Many thanks Phillip

I have got the throttles sorted now,I had the axis set as you had suggested and eventually found the axis for condition levers so have that fixed as well.

It was under prop pitch for me now for some more reading then tweaking I think
