January 21, 201412 yr Hello I have the Q400 and PFPX and i want anyone that explain me how to use it. How to match the two programs with the same weights? Can anyone make a mini tutorial? Or post an example good explained? Thanks Enviado desde mi Nexus 5 mediante Tapatalk José Fco. January 22, 201412 yr You should take advantage of the manuals that you purchased along with the software. Just use Adobe Reader's "Find" function under the "Edit" menu and the F3 key to look up the subjects you're interested in. Cnault2

January 23, 201412 yr I really consider these two tutorials for PFPX by Kyle Rodgers to be very use- and helpful: And regarding entering weights into the Q400 and PFPX, well i do it this way: One general note at first: I plan all my flights in PFPX in advance(!) and save the proper routes and plan profiles and all that, so i have them ready at hand anytime i want to go flying! Now if i want to fly a specific flight with the Q400 for instance, I ... Fire up FSX, choose the departure airport, then i set the time, then i load the Q400 and then i select the gate. Once i am in the cockpit, i open up the Q400 Control/Loadpanel and set passenger / luggage-weights - and also some fuelweights (I can enter any number here because it does not matter at this point). I then hit the "calculate" button and now i write down the ZFW that stands there! Then i close the Q400 control panel. At next i "minimize"/pause FSX open up PFPX, load the route/flight for the Q400 which i have saved in advance as described above - and ... now i type in/enter the ZFW - which i have written down as mentioned above - into the proper column of PFPX and let PFPX calculate the proper amount of fuel and all that and now write down the release fuel weight. Once i have the fuel and all the flight computed and released by PFPX, i save /print this specific flightplan, close PFPX and go back into the Q400 cockpit in FSX. I then open up the Q400 control panel once again but now i only change/enter the new fuel weights, as they were provided/calculated by PFPX! Then i hit/enter "calculate" again and then hit/enter "send data to flightsim". I now have all the necessary fuel and weights in use in the sim for the flight ahead - and as calculated by PFPX. I am sure there are other ways to get all the numbers together, but this is the way i do it. It sounds more complicated here then it actually is and takes just a few minutes usually. Cheers, Christoph Enjoy flying and happy landings.
January 23, 201412 yr Good to see someone dug deep and helped the bloke. Nice work Christoph. No doubt cnault2 will pop back in to check the reaction. Hirdy

February 6, 201412 yr I was going thru this process myself and wondering if I can load the PFPX flight plan and/or route export into the MJC Q-400 FMS/FMC ... so far, I've NOT been successful. However, if I manually enter all the information (into the Q-400 FMS/FMC) that PFPX builds for me and then save the using the Q-400 FMS/FMC there does appear to be a "loadable" format. So I guess my question is, does PFPX support the export to this format used by the Universal UNS1E FMS? And finally, the nav database is from June 2013, and it doesn't look like the Q-400 is using NavDataPro cycles ... does anyone know if the Q-400 nav database can be updated? Sorry for all the questions, but posting questions in MJC official forums doesn't usually get any response. Which is odd, considering this is a wonderful aircraft. Cheers, Rob.

I am using Navigraph and not Navdata Pro, so i can't tell for sure, but maybe the info provided here might be helpful for You: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/67207-navdata-pro-cycle-for-majestic-dash8-q400/page-2 and here: http://majesticsoftware.com/forums/discussion/749/nav-data-updates-/p1 I don't think that PFPX flightplans can be exported into the Q400, although i must admit that i have not tried it yet as i only do export flightplans to OPUS or ASN and sometimes into PMDG's great 777 or NGX as well, but that#s all - so maybe i am wrong here regarding the Q400. I haven't got much time for simming at the moment and so will not really be able to "re-check" soon, therefore i think i can't answer Your question more properly in the near future and hope that someone else can offer more help! Enjoy flying and happy landings.
February 7, 201412 yr I am using Navigraph and not Navdata Pro Hey Christoph, got NavDataPro working with the Q400 ... pretty slick solution. But no go on getting PFPX flight plans to export to the Q400 FMS/FMC. It appears the Q400 FMC saved files are in a binary format (using .fpr extension) -- I'm sure the format can be figured out with some trial and error testing ... I might take the job on and code a converter, but I'm waiting for the Q400 Pro version to be released first. I'm blown away at the level of detail in this Q400. But I am experiencing a odd problem with 1.008 + hot fix ... I'll be flying along just fine locked at 22 fps, then suddenly the simulation slows down BUT the frame rates remain the same locked at 22 fps. It's not a fps problem, it's as if the simulation went into slew mode but at 1/4 speed rather than full speed ... after a couple of seconds it'll resume to "normal" speed. I know the Q400 goes "outside the norm" in terms of flight model so I'm wondering if there is some incompatibility with P3Dv2 ... but oddly I didn't experience this problem prior to the 1.008 patch ... so it's something the 1.008 patch introduced. Maybe this is a known issue? Rob.

I can't offer any real reliable info in regards to P3D as i am still with DX10 FSX for now, but in regards to the "slow down" ... it may not be, but i think it is still worth giving it a try as it may help - and settings can easily be tuned back again, so: Do You use OPUS cameras with DHM for flights in the Dash? If so, please try to either turn off/untick the "bump aircraft" option or play around a bit with the "delay" factor - i use a delay of 8 for instance and this helps a lot as since i use this setting, the Dash runs far more smoothly whenever i use it with OPUS. This is just a first idea, but maybe it helps! Enjoy flying and happy landings.
February 7, 201412 yr but i think it is still worth giving it a try as it may help Not sure I understand ... what is "it" in this reference? Do You use OPUS cameras with DHM for flights in the Dash? No. For clarification, the "slow down" I'm referencing is not a frame rate slow down, that remains locked solid at 22 fps (confirmed with Fraps and Ctrl+Z to show fps) ... it's a simulation rate slow down as if I'm in 1/4 speed slew mode or something ... the fps remain consistent at 22 when this issue happens. The issue isn't consistent as to when it will happen, could not happen for 30 minutes, 15 minutes, 10 minutes ... when it does happen it's just for a few seconds then rate returns to normal. But it's definitely not a frame rate issue. Rob
