I loaded FSX on my laptop a while ago and have not been able to figure out why snow off the wheels and runway is black, It also comes out in a square pattern , smoke does the same thing.

 

any ideas?

I think this is the same problem that I had a while ago. The issue is a corrputed or missing file called "fx_1.bmp" If you replace that file all should be good again. IIRC, I had to resintall FSX as I didnt have the file backed up anywhere.

It is because of a missing texture, just run the repair option from the disk.

Thanks  "fx_1.bmp" fixed it, a quick copy and paste from a backup took care of the problem.
