Ships/boats are on top of black retangular plates

Featured Replies

Hi

It is great after installing the DX10 fixer all the black square/star of the road lamps disappeared both at day and night time. This made the sceneray more beautiful and more brightly at night. However I still find the each ship or boat is on top of an black retangular plate for the Hong Kong Kai Tak, Skiathos and others too . Would anyone kindly assist me to solve this problem. Many thanks.

I am afraid that your only option is to disable the static boats in the scenery options. This is almost certainly an example of the dx10 bug where if the same object is drawn in two adjacent scenery tiles they are drawn with the wrong transparency in the second tile. If you look carefully you will find some boats that are drawn ok.

The only people who could fix it is aerosoft but sadly they are uninterested. The problem and solutions are discussed in the manual. The two options are for them to copy and rename the shadow texture and create a new shadow model for it and then use that in the second tile or simply edit the shadow model and disable draw call batching. The second has a gpu performance cost but unless there are hundreds of boats and you have a weak gpu I would doubt that it would be measurable.
