Instrument Panel View set up question

Featured Replies

New member, long time MSFS user, just switched to XPX having purchased a 27" iMAC.  When I create a flight and am sitting on the runway in forward view I see very little of the aircraft instrument panel.  It makes it impossible to fly.

I'm ZOOMED back as far as I can, so I don't know what else to do to set up my cockpit view correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Tom

Go to "Settings"->"Rendering Options" and increase the "Lateral Field Of View" value. This sets the minimum achievable zoom value.

Thank you, is there a perfered setting or do you just set it by trial and error?

Some aircraft designers recommend a specific settings for their aircrafts, but in general the preferred setting is subjective. If you frequently zoom in and out, the best thing is to put it at a large value (e.g. 90 or 120 degrees) so you have a large range of zoom values to use.

Different planes will require a different lateral view setting. Even planes from the same developer will usually require you to reset the view to your comfort level.
