  1. VERY true, I can't stand to run around Oklahoma City without ortho. LOL. It's just seeing the dam in the proper place at the lakes, there is the state capitol, worst of all, there is my house, Hey the shed in the back yard is THERE, go around to the other side of the house, there is the carport, not to mention my neighbors, some of there cars sitting in the driveway. Fortunately I can fly other places and be happy without ortho as I am not so familiar with the streets in other large cities.
  2. Sounds like you may have a noisy switch on that POV. If you have another stick or yoke with a POV try switching .
  3. Make sure that your autooilot isn't engaged. I have had that happen on the ground and it acted like that.
  4. I have found over the years, whatever is cheaper at the time. I am currently using the Saitek Cessna Yoke and Pedals, they work well and the yoke comes with a separate throttle quadrant. In the past I have used and liked CH products. In my opinion they all work well. I don't know about the really expensive controls, as I haven't used the really expensive stuff whose names escape me right now  but I rather suspect they don't work any better than the CH or Saitek brands. Just my uneducated guess and opinion.
  5. EVGA Triton 6GB $1009 @ egg. that should do. PS I don't have it, just want it.
  6. It helps sometimes to move all your joysticks or controllers through their complete movements before starting to actually fly but after loading an aircraft. For instance I use the Saitek Cessna trim control, but if I don't wiggle it around after loading an aircraft and just start flying, the first time I try to trim the controller it will go to full up trim. Of course the plane will pitch up dramatically. Another thing is to make sure a autopilot is not engaged at takeoff. I have had that accidently happen on occasion and strange things sometimes occur. If it was the program that was faulty, everyone would probably be having this problem. Obviously not everyone is. Hope you get it ironed out.
  7. There is a half rate setting in the settings option
  8. I simply use the arrow keys the few times I am in outside view.
  9. Different planes will require a different lateral view setting. Even planes from the same developer will usually require you to reset the view to your comfort level.
  10. Hopefully 1030 won't be worse. LOL I expect it to be better, my experience in life tells me it is never as good as it should be, but it is never as bad as it could be.
  11. OFT Hope they can hold off the Seahawks!
  12. Thanks for that Longranger. I have been using a 2GB GTX 560 for quite a while actually it does quite well for its age. I really need to upgrade my whole system, but that will be a bit longer before I do.
  13. Another amateur question. Will the PCI Express 3.0 cards work in a PCI Express 2.0 x16 motherboard?
  14. All very good observations, thanks for the participation. i do have to say, I have a little over 100 hrs of night flight, and I have never once looked at the moon when flying at night. At least not to navigate. To me the most important aspect of simulation is to get as accurate flight model as possible, while working within the envelope, and that the navigation aids are reasonably accurate. for an accurate flight model I find the Carenado Archer II to be the go to plane. (I'm strictly a GA pilot). I wouldn't be surprised if most of their planes are on the mark, but the Archer and the Cessenas are the only ones I have real world time in. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all,
  15. I had forgotten all about that aspect, not to mention Vamps etc. Vampires I am sure are aware, but most werewolves in my experience don't really realize they are. They just come to themselves afterwards and wonder how they got there. As an aside that used to happen to me a lot. especially when i was in San Diego.
  16. I have always wondered how many people are even aware of what phase the moon is in, or rise or set time for that matter. Every time I see a post griping about the lack of this feature I always wonder. Is that a really important feature, or just nit-picky. Of course I think professional astronomers are always aware, but quite often I see amateurs that can't quite put their finger on that information at any given moment. I'm pretty happy to see a proper placement of at least some of the constellations, although I doubt if all of them are represented. I even wonder if anybody will even respond to this post.LOL Just food for thought, inquiring minds would like to know.
  17. I have often wondered, how many people are even aware of what phase the moon is in at any given time? I know Jcomm is really into that, I for one was amazed when I first realized that at least some of the constellations, were represented, I have seen Scorpio for one and i believe I have seen Sagittarius as well.
  18. That sound like Half Moon Bay. One of my favorite airports. LOL :-). KHAF
  19. Are you trying to use X-Plane10 in version 9 or even worse Ver 9 in X-Plane10? All of Carenados planes have been updated to 64 bit, but you have to pay attention to which version you use when you load the plane. There are two versions in each folder be sure you are using the ver. 10 in 64 bit. the ver 9 in 32 bit. I was quite confused by this post since it was tacked on to posts that date back a full year ago.
  20. You probably have your traffic set to high. Try Kansas residential, I never see fire engines or police in my setup. I don't know about European though.
  21. OKLAHOMA CITY area, and or Oklahoma in general. I know this area is not very desirable to a lot of people, no mountains,(a few mole hills), and of course Oklahoma City and Tulsa the largest metro areas is hard to compete with LA NYC Boston or Dallas and the like. I don't have the time to make scenery myself, and of course probably not the talent required either, so am stuck with other peoples interests. Of course I would spend money !!
  22. Get that SkyMaxx Pro guarantee you won't regret it. It is an absolute must. A decent plane if you are a GA like me, any of the Carenado planes, but the Archer is probably the most realistic. Can't help with the Heavy Iron, but if the IXEG 737 ever gets released, it will be an absolute must. that will probably be the only airliner, I fly. Oh, yes anything from Leading Edge Simulations is worth more than the asking price.
  23. How do you come up with a Christmas Scene out of a few snow people, and a snowflake or two? It looks like a winter scene to me, which i guess if you live in Equatorial Africa wouldn't make much sense. Although it is summer in OZ too, I might add the org does support freeware,as well as payware and has quite a lot of freeware files. Just felt the need to be a devils advocate. Truth is I seldom go to he org myself. LOL
  24. Yes indeed, that is what I am waiting for. I used to rent an Archer III out of Grand Prairie Tx. a great little plane. In the meantime the Carenado Archer II is pretty good. In the landing configuration coming into KPWA is so real it will give me goose bumps. Thanks to all who answered my call. Also a tip of the hat to 4Forces. Hope his situation gets bettter.
  25. Does anyone know anything about MortonM's Archer? I have been waiting forever for a release of his modern Archer, as I fly one every once in a while.
