Cloud shadows

Featured Replies

As described here, you can bring back the cloud shadows into XP10. And the good thing is ... they aren't visible only on the ground but also in the cockpit, as you can see in  this video.

That's pretty awesome! I wonder if this will be officially added in 10.30? Do you notice a FPS drop?

No, not at all. That's because the cloud shadows are already implemented, but were toned down in XP10.03 (or so). With the described method they actually only are darker again, but no additional computing power is required. I made the video with the clouds of Aerosoft Sky Tools - with SMP it won't work, as it is a different technique.

Wish this worked with SMP 1.2!

As a developer with some contact with Ben do you get the impression that 10.30 will bring the changes you need to add juicy stuff to Maxx XP?

Feel free not to answer if it puts you in a difficult spot:)

Any ideas on when 10.30 might make the light of day?  Seems like this release is taking forever.

No inside track and we havent been promised anything to be clear. :)

Just a wish list we put together awhile ago....

I like new stuff just as much as the next guy but keep in mind I am not holding LR to any promises and 10.30 may not be an answer to our concerns....

Sorry I may have jumped ahead with my comment and I hope I don't give you guys any false hope....

I am waiting for 10.30 with a lot of caution. Its all too easy for us to get all hyped up with speculation only to be disappointed by reality.

For me, it will arrive when it arrives and have in it what it has in it.

Hopefully good things for a broad range of users.

Hopefully 1030 won't be worse. LOL I expect it to be better, my experience in life tells me it is never as good as it should be, but it is never as bad as it could be.

No false hope (you clearly said 'hope'), just wondering.

On a completely different subject and on the off chance you didn't already know, your cloud reflections go really funky when water complexity is set to "none"

Its very.... dizzying.
