February 9, 201412 yr can you do a step by step guide plz not good with computers at all You had one of the common BEX (Buffer_Exception_Overrun) and StackHash crash. BEX/StackHash - There is no known solution to BEX/Stack Hash errors other than reinstalling Windows and FSX but some have accidently fixed their problem by lowering fsx/display driver settings, rebuilding the FSX.cfg, changing voltages/overclocking settings in the BIOS, disabling all scenery add-ons in the Scenery Library, and/or shutting down FSX only in Windowed Mode and starting up in Windowed Mode but never in Full Screen (if you have two monitors). I would go with the easy option first - rebuild your Fsx.cfg by deleting or renaming it, restarting FSX and let the config rebuild. This fixes most FSX problems. It gets rid of bad tweaks for one thing and resets your sliders to the default. I would just change the resolution for your monitor (in the FSX settings under the General tab) and not touch anything else then go fly. If the flight is successful, then it was a bad tweak or high settings.
February 9, 201412 yr A tip, try to put some indication of what you need help with in the title. Might help speed up response from useful folks and avoid useless browsers myself.
February 9, 201412 yr I think he wants to first know how to delete the FSX.cfg and then how to rebuild it. In the CTD Forum he reported he had a CTD. To rebuild your fsx.cfg: Go to C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX and delete the FSX.cfg. Restart FSX. Your FSX.cfg will be rebuilt. The FSX.cfg is located in a hidden folder on your computer. In order for you to get there you have to "unhide" your hidden folders. The following link explains how to do this: http://www.wikihow.com/Unhide-Folders-in-Windows-7 Since you are not computer literate, changing voltages/overclocking in your BIOS is not necessary as you most likely did not touch those settings. If removing the fsx.cfg does not fix your problem, you best solution would be to reinsert your Windows 7 DVD and reinstall Windows. Then reinstall FSX. Hope this helps.
