February 9, 201412 yr New to ASN, but very familiar with previous versions. In the past, in order to avoid Sturns and other problems associated with Turbulence, we were instructed to make some changes to the FSX config file (turbulence scale) and the FSUIPC .ini file (2 values). Additionally, on my own experience I enabled certain settings in the FSUIPC gui to suppress gust and turbulence and smooth pressure changes. Can someone confirm that these changes are all a thing of the past, totally unnecessary, nor will have to do any "smoothing" from within FSUIPC? S-turns will not happen with PMDG aircraft when using ASN? If someone confirms this, then I'm going to set all those values back to their defaults...
February 9, 201412 yr It has been confirmed in a couple of threads here already ... and I haven't fiddled with the turbulence scalar anymore myself since upgrading to ASN. What happened to AVSIM

February 14, 201412 yr There's no need for any FSUIPC wind smoothing. Yes indeed, it's now a thing of the past with ASN. I've had ASN since realse, and not a single sudden wind shift.
