March 2, 201412 yr Hey guys, hen I start squawkbox in FSX (also happens when I start it externally), I get a "unable to initialize voice" error and I am restricted to text only. I did as much research as I could and did not find any solutions. Has anybody figured out what the error is? I've tried rebooting, replugging my speakers, plugging in a headset, and updating all sound drivers. Any help is welcome and appreciated. Also, I've heard it could have something to do with a router? If that makes any sense to anyone.
March 2, 201412 yr Your battery needs to be on before you open up squawk box. That should do it. If its the right message I'm thinking of and I'm 99.9% sure it is
March 3, 201412 yr Author No that isn't it either. Still getting the same message. Its the message saying squawkbox is unable to initialize voice because there may be insufficient input or output devices yada yada yada.
March 3, 201412 yr Author No I havent. Working on getting my login info. But I have read topics similar on there and have tried everything they have suggested to no avail. Anybody here had this problem?
March 3, 201412 yr It sounds as if SB is not detecting a sound device or maybe you have not correctly selected a device in the voice tab of SB options
