pc-12 question

Recommended Posts

Might want to start out with a Cessna but anyway there should be a button that says APP or APR that's approach mode.

I recommend this site.... good lessons on navigation... you'll want to know the basics before you can fly the Pilatus.

XP doesn't really use the GPS unless you select direct to - then the HSI center needle (called the CDI) goes right and left of center to tell you if you're right or left of course...  If you're navigating via GPS you'll need the NAV source to be GPS/GNSS - there's probably a button on the panel somewhere.  The HSI also applies to ILS, localizer, VOR etc... it tells you the same information.

The HSI will use the frequency you enter in NAV1 radio and other than GPS you'll want to be in VLOC mode.
