March 21, 201412 yr Hello Fliers, I have read on this forum many times where some people have their OS installed on their 128 GB SSD HD and FSX installed on another drive to save HD space and just to have FSX on its on HD. This makes a lot of since. Here is what I don't understand, say you have your OS on "c" drive and FSX on "e" drive then how does this work? When you open FSX does it find the c drive and load? I have a spare 256 GB SSD and would like to load FSX on it. Regards, Lamar. Regards Lamar Wright
March 21, 201412 yr I not sure I understand your question, but it is pretty straight forward. Make a folder on your empty FSX drive called "FSX" in example. Then start the installer and point it to that folder. After fsx is installed your done and it will be on the 2nd ssd.
March 21, 201412 yr Author I see, so point the installer to the SSD HD that has the FSX folder. Easy enough. I just always had the flight sim on the OS drive. Thanks Outofphase. I feel kinda stupid now!! Regards Lamar Wright
March 21, 201412 yr Lamar Its all in the registry when you install the OS on one drive and other programs on other drives a registry entry (entries) point(s) the OS to the drive and loads the software. To the OS its just like the software is installed in the Program Files folder on your C:\Drive. PeterH
