March 22, 201412 yr I posted this on the PMDG forum, but it should have probably gone here. I just loaded a new MS FSX Gold on to my secondary HD I've reserved for flight sim stuff only. No Win 7 OS or other programs. The instalation went okay, but I re-downloaded PMDG 777, got to the install screen and I get a popup screen that said I have an older version of MS FSX and to install FSX Service Pack 2. I thought the Acceleration Pack took care of that problem, but when I try to install FSX SP2 I get a screen telling me I have to install FSX SP1 first. Only problem is that the download page says do not install FSX SP1 if the Acceleration pack is already installed, which it is, with MS FSX Gold. I've looked around the forum, done searches and can't seem to find an answer. Since I am new, it's possible I do not know where to look, I have also tried the FSX Forum, even though I believe itmight be a PMDG 777 problem. I've just got a support ticket in to PMDG, after a couple of days of that system being down, not sure how long it will take for them to respond. Thanks, Brian Brian Curtis Vietnam Huey Pilot
March 23, 201412 yr After you install just the FSX installation, did you reboot cleanly before you tried to install the Acceleration Pack? Try that. That's the way I installed it without a glitch. If you do a search here, you'll also find many helpful posts on this subject. Rick Almeida
March 23, 201412 yr Author Thanks for the reply, I did some searches for FSX Gold and read that the Acceleration Pack was on a third CD. I'd assumed that FSX Gold had two cd's like the basic FSX, do not know how I missed seeing the third cd, but some how I did. Once I install this cd I should be okay. Brian Curtis Vietnam Huey Pilot
