March 29, 201412 yr I heard from a few that using a ram frequency of 2133 can cause latency issues in FSX. Does anyone have any further confirmation on this? I have 16GB of 2133, in what way would reducing it to 1600 affect FSX? Thanks! David Zambrano, CFII, CPL, IGI I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.
March 29, 201412 yr It depends on the specific RAM and its timings. I believe you can currently get 1866 sticks on CL9 timings, which is very nice, but I am not sure what your 2133 ones are running on. I would say that the highest timings I would personally go for is CL10. If for instance your sticks are older and on CL11 or 12, it means they need more cpu cycles. What timings did you set on your RAM?
March 29, 201412 yr Author My timings are 9-11-11-31-2 David Zambrano, CFII, CPL, IGI I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.
March 30, 201412 yr Where did u get those timings? do you know what timings you can set if you set the ram to 1866 or 1600? I would go to either of those and get your timings down.
March 31, 201412 yr Author Timings are stock. Bought from newegg. What timings/ freq. can you recommend? Ram is my weakest PC knowledge when it comes to clocking/timings. All I Know is lower is faster. David Zambrano, CFII, CPL, IGI I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.
March 31, 201412 yr Never had that problem, can run up to 2800mhz cl10 in FSX without any problems. Haswell like high memspeed optimal is 2400 cl9 (depending on how good the IMC is)with good imc 2666 cl9-cl10. SandyBridge only supports 2133mhz without blck overclock optimal for SB is 2133 cl7-cl8. This tread by Saab340 is very good reading think its time for it to be a STICKY. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/412163-the-impact-of-different-ram-speeds-and-timings-in-fsx/#entry2700638 Her is a Link to Corsairs own test in differnt games , ok they want to sell mems anyway they confirm Saab340 tests. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/blog/2014/march/haswellrealworld http://
