February 2, 200521 yr Hello Avsim friends :)I would like to use the Windows XP "Make Folder Private" (MFP) function to prevent others inadvertently messing up my flight simulator files. However the MFP function only works if the folder to be secured is located under C:Documents and SettingsUsernameI installed FS9 into the default location - C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9(1) Can I just cut & paste the FS9 folder into the new locationor(2) Do I have to reinstall the simulation into the new location.Would greatly appreciate your advice!Thanx much :)
February 2, 200521 yr Moderator If you use the XP folder move feature, it should update the registry for you automatically...Otherwise, you could move the entire folder manually and the hand-edit the registry.I've always had FS installed in the "My Documents" folder since I have a LAN and wanted to be able to assign a network drive letter directly to FS... FS shows up on my LAN as M:Flightsimulator 9 which makes file management remotely a breeze! ;) Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
February 2, 200521 yr Author Do you have the link where you explained about creating seperate FS9 profiles so you can have different key commands for each setup.IE: HelicopterpropgaJet.... etc....I searched here and couldn't find it, but I think I read it somewhere else.I want to make a fully customized profile for my voice recognition profiles, but I don't want to start reassigning key commands until I can refer to your post.
