April 1, 201412 yr Finally got to do my first takeoff from Rwy18 at Male in the PMDG Tutorial 1. I was not prepared for how stable and easy to fly the PMDG 777 is to control on takeoff and climb out, it's actually mind blowing IMO. I found that the other aircraft in FSX, not be very stable, trimming the elevator helps, but it takes a click or two, of up and down trim all the time to maintain a somewhat level flight, particularly with an airliner. I had not turned my TrackIR5 back on, as I pause it with the F9 key to be able to use FSX's zoom keys to program the FMC, and FSX uses the same key for cockpit view also, as you all know. As I was nearing 250kts I engaged the AP and it took the aircraft right over. At that point I pushed my F9 key to engage my TrackIR5 and the both PFD displays go wild. I tried to get them back by pushing the F9 key again, but no go. But since none of the displays are readable, I exited the flight. I will try another flight, but will not turn my TrackIR5, so that I can finish the flight. My other thought is to make sure I have un-paused the TrackIR5 before releasing the 777's brakes for takeoff after I finish one flight without it. But the F9 button sharing two different functions may be the problem. I searched all the TrackIR topics I could find and could not find this problem, anyone else come across this? April 1, 201412 yr What do you mean exactly with "the both PFD displays go wild" ? If your F9 key is used both by TrackIR and FSX, the solution is simply: change one of the assignments to another key. I'm using TrackIR5 with no problems. I have never used the "pause" function, though. April 1, 201412 yr Author I thought it was the TrackIR but it wasn't. What I meant was the attitude indicator is spinning, the airspeed and altitude numbers are bouncing up and down very fast, not settling on any number, and the numbers are way out of range of what altitude and speed the aircraft is flying. This flight I did not have time to switch on the AP. Brian Curtis Vietnam Huey Pilot
