February 4, 200521 yr Happened to me with FS2002 once...I called M$, they charged $65 because they said they had to send the whole box...in the end, they only sent 4 CDs in the paper slide cases and nothing more...still charged the full $65 from the credit card, bastids.....
February 4, 200521 yr >Did you have to produce your receipt? I dont know where I put>mine!>>If my disk breaks I hope I get as lucky as you did!Np receipt was required - like someone else has said in here if you are polite and submit a genuine case they come up with the right support. :)Dave
February 4, 200521 yr Let us a;so not forget without the mighty MS there would be no flight simulator too - can you imagine life without it? :)
February 4, 200521 yr MS has also donated 750 Million dollars just this year, to privide immunizations for children in 3rd world countries. Years ago, Bill Gates said, "When my wife and I expire, our children will inherit ten million dollars. The balance will go into a trust fund for charities." He is evidently not waiting to die, to make use of his money. MS has also created over 50 multi millionaire's who work for the company. Probably the early employees who had stock options.
February 4, 200521 yr <>Hmmm...Why didn't you just go buy the software locally. Unless your disk broke very shortly after your initial purchase, you could have bought new for a lot less than $65.00.But in any event, breaking a disk with 2K2 is a different matter than with FS9. With FS9 you HAVE to have Disk4 to continue to use the product (absent a crack). With earlier versions, once installed, you could use the software forever. And how many other companies offer a free replacement guarantee if YOU break the product?Regards,Jim
February 5, 200521 yr Ditto,I just this evening had to call MS, as my CD shattered a few days ago. Wouldn't you know it they gave no fuss about it. They simply asked what happened, asked for part number on the case for proof of ownership, mentioned they know it's an issue with certain CD drives, but nonetheless they were very happy to replace my cd.Pretty cool if you ask me. -----------------------------"There is an art . . . to flying. February 5, 200521 yr Correct, and Bill Gates has privately pledged to donate another $50 million a year for the next decade towards AIDS research and caring for patients in developing nations. That's 10% of the entire world budget coming from just one man, and one man many openly despise as the devil incarnate...Microsoft has also over the last several years provided PCs and software to equip classrooms and offices at over 2000 primary schools in poor neighbourhoods in American cities. They were by some criticised for this, because they included Microsoft software with the computers... Some people take offense at everything Microsoft does it appears.
