Q400 Cadet Training - final reserve fuel

Recommended Posts

Cadets,

You may notice that the final reserve fuel is very generous for all our line flights - 920 kg - this is enough for 45 mins holding plus another 100ish kg for 'a bad day'.

We did this for the Cadet training only because we didn't want to get into a fuel emergency situation with multiple go-arounds etc. but thankfully on the day my flying wasn't quite as terrible as I feared it could be, so we didn't need it.

An EU ops FR figure for the Q400 is usually in the region of 450 kg, just for your info. We'll be using this figure for the First Officer and Captain's courses!

Just as a suggestion, it be great if we could get imperial equivalents for all these standard weights, just as a text across the bottom of the screen or something. You know being a lazy American it'd make things easier.

Not a big deal either way, can't wait for the rest if the vids and the otter training.
