Need help replacing mobo and CPU

Recommended Posts

I am thinking about replacing my power supply, case, RAM, motherboard and CPU.  I have a Dell XPS 8100 and would like to use the graphics card GTX260, hard drive and DVD player with my new upgrades.

My question is do I need to reformat my hard drive before I do this or just move my old hard drive into my new case plug it and turn on my machine.  Download the latest drivers and way to go or is there much more to it than that.  I am running windows 7 and would like to have all the stuff on my new computer that I have on my old one.

any opinions?

I would highly recommend a format... Mainly because of driver issues between the old a new hardware.

| Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | EVGA GTX1080 Ti | 32GB 5600 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X |
