Hello.  I searched both Avsim and Flightsim forums for my specific issue and was unsuccessful in getting a definitive answer.  Here goes.

I wanted to update my AAL fleet to the newest livery, and I downloaded the file ssp763erv5_cf6-80c_american_airlines_ow (for one world), as well as the non-one world version.  Both contained winglet and straight wing models.  No biggie.  I read the "Read Me" about 4 times to understand what was required in the Panel.cfg file, since, without any editing, the model shows up in the drop down selector in FS9, but no plane appears, and an error message pops up instantly.  I would have to choose another plane.  So, I edited the Panel.cfg, as I was instructed to do ( I think I did it right ), and now the plane appears in the drop down, I can select it, and it appears on the starting location, ready to fly.  Except for one minor detail - there is no panel at all!  Has anyone had this happen?  Below are instructions from the "Read Me" , and below that are my original Panel.cfg and the new Panel.cfg with corrections.  Please advise.  Note - initially, I included the "VC" section in my Panel.cfg update, but it made no difference whether it was there or not, since i am using Chris Jeanne's Boeing 757/767 panel in 2D form, without vc.  Thanks for reading!

Install:
Just unzip the file and send the Aircrafts folder to the FS2004 AIRCRAFT FOLDER.
The contents of the "effects" folder needs to be copied into the main EFFECTS folder. The aircraft will show up under the "BOEING" manufacturer.

*You can change this by editing your Aircraft.CFG file with Notepad.*

So, I edited the Panel.cfg, as I was instructed to do ( I think I did it right ), and now the plane appears in the drop down, I can select it, and it appears on the starting location, ready to fly. Except for one minor detail - there is no panel at all! Has anyone had this happen?

Your current, edited panel.cfg file has errors in it.  Specifically, it has two entries for [window00] and [window01]. The first time these two entries appear they are the Skyspirit entries, the second time the main panel entry and the FS9 GPS entry.  So the first [Window00] is cancelling out the main panel window.

 

It looks to me like your aircraft and panel should display with the first, unedited version of the panel.cfg file as you reprinted it.  Where was the folder containing the panel, including panel.cfg file, before you edited it?  It does have some errors but it should still work.  So go back to that and let's see what happens.

 

One thing easy to fix: The original panel.cfg file should look like this at the beginning:

You also need to create a VC cockpit section and add some Skyspirit entries, but let's get the panel and aircraft showing first.

Just wanted to add that you should still be able to see the aircraft even with no panel installed at all.  I just double-checked, using a Skyspirit 767-400 (in FS9).  So I think you must have changed something else that made the plane visible, in addition to changing the panel.cfg file.
