  1. Ok, first of all, a BIG thanks to everyone who reached out. I tried the easy thing. Clean download of a complete SkySpirit B77W (model, panel, everything included). I fired that aircraft up and she performed perfectly, on Aerosoft, Dziewicki Designs, FlyTampa, LatinVFR, PACSIM and ORBX scenery alike. I proceeded to copy all the cfg file data from the newly installed aircraft into the rest of my B77w's and now they all work. Who knows what happened to begin with, but it's working great now! Crazy computers!!
  2. the trouble aircraft sink on all scenery, not just particular airports. Maybe I'll try to download one or two -300's and see what happens. thanks
  3. Strange thing happened to me a couple weeks ago in FSX. All of my Skyspirit/Opensky Boeing 777's began to sink when I selected them from my menu whether the starting point was on the active runway, tarmac, or at the gate. They literally sank about half way into the engine diameter, of course, prompting sparks, smoke and damage (the "scrape points", i presume) They are not flyable at all. I have ORBX Global installed, and have not made any global changes in my scenery, other than adding a few airports. None of my Aircraft cfg files were changed, although it appears as though something swept through my large Boeing twins somehow. I can successfully fly my Skyspirit Boeing 767's, -200, -300, -400 with no issues. All my TDS Boeings work perfectly. Airbus aircraft from Project Airbus and CLS work perfectly. Just the 77W's. Has anyone experienced this? I'm curious. I did some research on contact points and scrape points from the Opensky Archive, but not having changed anything (to my knowledge) I'm a bit hesitant to start messing with cfg files blindly. Anyone seen this happen before? One aircraft sank even lower, bounced repeatedly, and actually started shooting down the runway with no throttle inputs at all. I made several screen captures, but I am not sure how to insert them here. Please help!
  4. thanks a lot, Mike777 and pfflyers! it worked like a charm!!!! You are the BEST!
  5. Wow! Great! Thanks to everyone for the help! I will try it out and get back to you! Roman
  6. Hello. I searched both Avsim and Flightsim forums for my specific issue and was unsuccessful in getting a definitive answer. Here goes. I wanted to update my AAL fleet to the newest livery, and I downloaded the file ssp763erv5_cf6-80c_american_airlines_ow (for one world), as well as the non-one world version. Both contained winglet and straight wing models. No biggie. I read the "Read Me" about 4 times to understand what was required in the Panel.cfg file, since, without any editing, the model shows up in the drop down selector in FS9, but no plane appears, and an error message pops up instantly. I would have to choose another plane. So, I edited the Panel.cfg, as I was instructed to do ( I think I did it right ), and now the plane appears in the drop down, I can select it, and it appears on the starting location, ready to fly. Except for one minor detail - there is no panel at all! Has anyone had this happen? Below are instructions from the "Read Me" , and below that are my original Panel.cfg and the new Panel.cfg with corrections. Please advise. Note - initially, I included the "VC" section in my Panel.cfg update, but it made no difference whether it was there or not, since i am using Chris Jeanne's Boeing 757/767 panel in 2D form, without vc. Thanks for reading! 1. Here is the "Read Me" that came with the download: Install: Just unzip the file and send the Aircrafts folder to the FS2004 AIRCRAFT FOLDER. The contents of the "effects" folder needs to be copied into the main EFFECTS folder. The aircraft will show up under the "BOEING" manufacturer. *You can change this by editing your Aircraft.CFG file with Notepad.* //------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***** ***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***IMPORTANT!!!***** IF YOU'RE USING 3rd PARTY PANEL--YOU *MUST* DO THIS OR THE MODEL WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY!!! 1) Copy and paste this section into the [Window Titles] section (1st section) of the Panel.CFG file [bE SURE its before 'fixed_windows' entries (if any)]. 7. I will try that, Dave! By adding the dummy folders "scenery" and "texture" under Addon Scenery, I was able to get rid of the error on startup. Now, to go, one by one, and get AFCAD to collect the airports. still won't work. Thanks
  8. here is what the extracted Afcad Zip File turns into. these are all the files in the folder. it just doesnt make any sense to me. out of nowhere, AFCAD just stopped working. and that error, I'm not too concerned with it, since all my addon stuff does work.
  9. Joe, I am using XP Pro. I have never had an issue with AFCAD, until now. approx how long does it take to collect the airports on first run? Roman
  10. No, I do not have a plain scenery sub folder of \Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery. All my sub folders are named for their respective sceneries, but there is no "######ized" folder just named "scenery"within the Addon Scenery parent folder.
  11. Hello everyone!I have been searching and cannot find a solution to my issue. Here it goes.... after so many FS9 crashes, it was time to uninstall, format, and start clean. I streamlined, got rid of all the fancy AI traffic, and added only about half the flyable aircraft I had before. The game runs amazingly fast, boots up in less than a minute (i'm still on a Pentium 4 processor), and hardly crashes anymore. I began adding, one by one, the large airports I frequent around the globe. They all show up nicely, but I get a Scenery Config error immediately when the game starts. Please see attached photo... When I add scenery, or an airport, I add one by one, through the Settings/Scenery Library in the menu as the game launches. No problems at all seeing the scenery changes, the airports look great, in spite of the error message. The other day, I attempted to make some changes to an ILS approach, and when I launched AFCAD 2.2.1, it was not able to open ANY of my airports. Nothing at all. It tried "Collecting airports", but that is about it. AFCAD freezes up at that point. I uninstalled, reinstalled, but to no avail. Perhaps this has something to do with the Scenery Config error, re Addon Scenery. Is the config written correctly? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks much! I enclosed additional photos which might help you help me. Roman
