April 28, 201412 yr Hi guys, I've been a member for a while already, but this is my very first thread on AVSIM. I hope this is the correct subforum for my thread I have a problem when, after a flight, I hit Escape and click 'End Flight', Windows come's up with a message saying 'FSX has stopped working' and its looking for a solution to the problem. Wich obviously, it is not going to find. I only have this problem with add-on aircraft, the default planes (I love the Maule Orion, best default FSX plane imo) are giving me no problem what so ever. Current FSX setup: FSX Deluxe Edition with SP2 (dúh) FSX fps-limiter set to 20 FSUIPC demo version A view mod's to prevent CTD's and some other stuff Modded fsx.cfg to not show a message at the bottom left about the brakes and all that + some other stuff that I can't remember right now, will check this asap. PMDG 737NGX with latest update (genuine) Aerosoft's Diamond DA20-100 Katana 4x (genuine) Justflight's Douglas DC3 (not so genuine, wanted to know if it was worth buying) OpusFSX (genuine) NL2000 scenery (freeware) Current hardware: Coolermaster V700 powersupply MSI Z87-G45 Gaming motherboard Core i5 4670 @ stock (watercooled) 2x4GB G-skill Ripjaw DDR3-1333 Asus GTX560 1GB (non-Ti version) Crucial M4 SSD 120GB (for Windows-install and FSX) Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB (contains installation folders for other games and software including NL2000 install (because it doesn't fit on SSD)) Samsung Spinpoint F4 2000GB (contains downloads and My Documents) As mentioned, I get the 'FSX stopped working' message when I hit 'End Flight' when having used an add-on aircraft. Here are some facts: The first time I use an add-on aircraft after its installation there are no problems, FSX goes back to menu as it should. When I load my flight with the C172 for example, and then load the add-on aircraft, fly it, after the flight I hit 'End Flight', it might sometimes crash, but some times it doesn't and goes back to menu as it should. Problem with this is however, if I start of with the C172 and then load the add-on aircraft, the elevator can't be moved up, thus preventing me from take off at VR Its not caused by faulty hardware, I recently did an upgrade. I used to be running Asus P7P55D Pro, i5 750 and 4x2GB OCZ Gold DDR3-1333. I upgraded last year, after the upgrade discovered that the OCZ memory was faulty (giving BSOD's) and replaced it with the G-skill set. System has been running rock-solid since. It would be great if I could get any help with this. I recently started flying the Aerosoft's Katana a bit more then I was used to. And everytime I shut down FSX after a flight its not remembering any of the settings and/or aircraft state. So I'm starting with a brandnew aircraft each time I want to fly. As most of you might know, Aerosoft's Katana features a pretty cool maintenance system and wear and tear on the aircraft, wich is now pretty useless. Wich makes me sad :( Also, because of this error, its not remembering any of the preferences I've set with the 737NGX If I'm home in time tonight, I will try to find a way to upload my fsx.cfg check my event viewer to see what makes FSX crash. If I'm right, its mentioning fsx.exe find out what kind of tweaks and mods I'm using, as I can't remember now Thanks in advance and happy flying
April 28, 201412 yr Administrators A good starting point would be to get rid of the "Justflight's Douglas DC3-Not so genuine" and try from there. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!
April 28, 201412 yr I get your point, but it doesn't solve my problem. Even after a fresh FSX install the problem is there. For example, first installing the 737NGX, on first use of the aircraft everything works fine, including ending the flight. The second time it crashes on ending the flight. If I then install the Katana its the same all over again, the first time is fine, the second time it will crash.
April 28, 201412 yr What does "a view mod to prevent ctds" mean? Do you have the uianimationcore dll in your main fsx directory? Do you have the latest version of fsupic? Have you let the fsx.cfg file rebuild itself?
April 28, 201412 yr As I mentioned in the startpost, I will check what I have modded and tweaked to get FSX running stable, as I'm at work now. I'm pretty sure I have the UIAutomationcore.dll fix in use though. I'll try rebuilding the fsx.cfg file to if I get the time, I have to work late
