To re-register original RC4 - new system

Featured Replies

I have been running RC4 (Disk 2007) with WIN XP Pro and  now have WIN 7, 64bit. system.

Would it be in any way possible for me to re-install RC4 and obtain a key to register and run

the program?

My regards

Yes it is you just have to install and register RC4 the same way as you did the first time.

When you format or replace your hard drive, to Radar Contact the machine looks like an unregistered copy of Radar Contact is running. So it asks for new key. The first time you run Radar Contact the Registration screen will
appear. Please enter your First Name and Last Name where indicated. Next click on the box that says "Click here to Email Registration Information to JDTLLC." Your email program will prepare a properly formatted email message addressed to [email protected]. All you need to do is click the send button in your email program. When we receive your request we will send you a new activation key.

If you use web based email programs such as Yahoo or Hotmail a properly formatted message can not automatically be prepared. You must do it manually. Manually prepare a message addressed to [email protected] with a subject of RCv4 Key Request. In the body of the message copy/paste your Product ID code. The Product ID code is the series of numbers in the box on the right on the RC Registration screen. Hit the space bar a couple of times and enter your First and Last Name. Finally send the email.

Above text is from the RC FAQ without any changes

Good luck

If your user e-mail address has changed since your current registration, you will need to have your registration handled manually. Send an e-mail to [email protected] subject: user update and new RC4 key request

Include your old and current e-mail address, user name, and product code including any "-" if present. Format the user name and product code as in the pinned topic.

Be sure jdtllc.com is allowed through any spam filters.

With Win 7 you should install a couple of dlls and an ocx file. Please read through the pinned error 713 missing dll topic. The dlls were dropped from the Win 7 system.

When you run your first install, right click on rcv4.exe and select run as admin. Once installed create a shortcut to rcv4.exe, right click on it, select properties, enable run as admin in this first dialog, click advanced, and click to check run as admin also in this second dialog. OK to back out to first dialog, Click Apply, then OK  to end adjustments.

You will also need to update fsuipc and makerwys.exe from the versions on the installation disk or download.

Get the full and interim versions as needed of fsuipc from:

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/

Get makerwys.exe from:

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/

then rerun the scenery update again.

It may take a day or two to get your registration key if manual handling is required.
