I'll say what everyone else who has looked at your post is thinking. Don't. Install FS9 or go home. There is no comparison, sorry. I won't even bother going into it, just do it. No, I don't work for Nike. Everything you install now you'll uninstall later. But hey, I see fs98 sceneries on the flightsim.com boards all the time, maybe you'd have better luck there if you're really into this. billg

No need for the sarcasm.Regards,Alexander Martin.-----------------------------------Previous FlightsBAL341A Friday 27th August: EGKK-LGZABAL341B Friday 3rd September: LGZA-EGKKhttp://members.virtualjet.co.uk/vJsigA.jpg

It depends on what kind of machine you have. If you have an all-powerful system, go ahead and start your sliders all the way to the right and go from there. If your framerate is single digits, then slide the sliders down a couple of notches.

sarcasm? I try to be up front and honest with a noobie, tell him like it is, and then some yahoo, from the outer fringes of who knows where, acuses me of saying what I said with some other motive besides being helpful?Well, I'll tell you now. That's not the way it is. I was trying to help. If you have a problem, I'd suggest you call your Captain at Previous Flights and tell him you're a goof and you don't know what to do about it. Maybe he can get you help. If not, and even if he does, don't ever talk to me like that again. billg

It's newbie, not noobie.

Hi Ali here is some helpful information:I like FS Sky World, which has some awfully nice cloud textures. Freeware.Next, WxRE is freeware for FS2002 (www.activesky.com) It is the FS2002 equivalent of ActiveSky for FS2004. Offers hourly real-world weather via internet connection or synthetic weather generation for offline use.Third, I really like FSGenesis terrain mesh. Extensive coverage world-wide. There are some areas in the US that have very detailed mesh (Yosemite National Park, Grand Canyon for example) which makes flying in these areas really fun. I think Holger Sandmann did some mesh scenery for FS2002 and his work is incredible. As far as aircraft are concerned, the Howard 500 is a real winner - freeware. FSD T38 is great fun - also freeware. There are some really spectacular airports too for FS2002. KDCA, KLGA (Shehryar Ansari) and KDEN come to mind. These are downloads I have enjoyed particularly - hope this is helpful.

Thank you Rudi, that's just the kind of response I was looking for. Really nice of you. What's coming to the world these days, people just don't know how to be polite anymore do they?Cheers.Regards,Alexander Martin.-----------------------------------Previous FlightsBAL341A Friday 27th August: EGKK-LGZABAL341B Friday 3rd September: LGZA-EGKKhttp://members.virtualjet.co.uk/vJsigA.jpg

Guess not. Sorry about your interaction with billg. Best regards.

Just seen this post from last year. I've currently got FS2002. I never bought 2004, can't remember why. I've now upgraded to FSX and feel cheated. My FS2002 did not have alot of extra's, Dreamfleet 737 and world airports vol.1, plus FS Traffic. I can run 30fps with all sliders maxed and it looks better than my FSX with all tweeks, min sliders and 10-12fps.RobEnglandP4 3.6ghz1024gb ramNVIDIA 256mb EN6200 T/C

Hello. As I have been out of FS action for some time now, waiting for the LDS 767 to make it's scene into the wonders of Fs9 (which I am yet to use proeprly). I have decided to reinstall fs2002. Before everyone's jaws drop to their feet, I am asking if anyone would mind helping me compile my fs2002 to look half decent.I just need tips and hints to get my fs2002 looking nice. For example, if anyone could point me in the direction of the best clouds to use, for best performance and looks. Or if someone recommended some cfg tweaks to get the most out of the old fs2k2 engine. Anything I would really appreciate to help me out here guys. I'm going to start with the FSW ground textures etc, any other thoughts? AEU 3? Modules?Thank you people,Alex.
