July 11, 201411 yr Author There's no way to get around the OutOfMemory as the LOD value is increased. Its a very hard limitation of FSX being a 32bit program. As long as you use 64bit windows and have 4GB RAM or morre there's nothing you can do really. Using less addons, less complex aircraft together with your photo scenery would let you use a higher LOD setting, but its only about prioritising on what you want to use your maxmum of 4GB virtual address space on. Airports, weather, aircraft, traffic, photo scenery? We can't have it all unfortunatly as when we hit the 4GB limit the OOM error will happen. Thanks for the nice answer, SAAB340. I will try Affinitymask 244 and see the results. BTW, I posted my FSX config, but I´m not an expert on it, there may be some wrong parameters, or at least some things that could be improved. I came to that final config by following several hints I´ve read on many many posts and optimizing. I even optimized video card parameters ( GTX780 ) for the best possible frame rate and overall quality. I get steady 30fps. But regarding Megascenery Earth and all of we are talking about, I notice clearly that when I use Tileproxy instead of MSE, I can´t remember having this problem on delaying textures. Well, configuring properly FSX is almost rocket scientist matter, ajajajaja.I saw some softwares to measure use of virtual memory, but unfortunatelly, I didn´t find one to work properly ( And I don´t know why, have you some tips on good software for that ? ). BTW, I run win7 64bit on a Samsung SSD Pro 256Gb, it´s fantastic. The main scenery on a Samsung 840 EVO ( 500Gb ), which unfortunatelly is small for all MSE scenery, since I have almost complete USA just now, so I have to run on a Seagate 3Tb HDD instead, but it´s very fast. Currently, I can´t afford to pay for 2 1Gb SSD only for MSE scenery, I´ve made a big investiment recently on my PC and other areas, and I´ll have to await having some money to send on 2 good SSD. I´d like to hear your results on the tests. One thing I find strange: Samsung 840 PRO give better results, andincredible results on software HDTune Pro, Benchmarks as high as 500Mb/s even almost full. On Samsung 840 EVO, when HD tune pro makes a sequencial read benchmark, on the parts which has data on HDD, it displays VERY slow( 100mb/s ) very different from the parts that there´s no data written.I tested with samsung software magician, and it tells it´s ok, about 530 read and write benchmark, so, I don´t know in what to believe, but on Samsung 840 Pro this doens´t happen. Thanks,
July 15, 201411 yr Author To people who faces blurry or delays in loading sharp textures like me, I discovered that if I deactivate almost all other third party scenery, leaving ONLY Megascenery Earth and a single USA state, it will improve a lot. I really don´t know why this happens, why letting all MSE states active will interfere with the extreme delay in loading initial FSX screen and while flying, the extreme delays in loading sharp textures, because one could think that if you are flying over an area, ONLY textures from that area would load, so, the other installed scenery wouldn´t make any side effect, but this is not what happens. If you remove completely from your scenery.cfg all scenery you are not using, or disable them using some tool, and turning active only a single state ( or 2 ) this will have a great impact on the speed texture load into FSX. I would like someone to comment more on this and why it happens. Please, pardon my english, since I´m not from a native english speaking country. Thanks
