February 15, 200521 yr Hi All,I wondered if anyone else was having this kind of trouble,I have re-installed FS9 after a re-format, and yet the default brakes button will not work for me with my Saitek X52, I have even re-assigned the brakes key to ctrl-d, pressing this on the keyboard works, but not with the stick, anyone had this before at all.thanks.
February 15, 200521 yr Commercial Member This happened to me once on a fresh install, and the problem was the "repeat rate" setting for the joystick's button. Go into "assignments" and check/set your joystick brake assignment's repeat rate to maximum. Hope that helps.Jim
February 15, 200521 yr Hello all, well, I too have a brake problem which has developed within the last week. My yoke, (PFC) has a red button which I have always used as brakes. All of a sudden it quit working. I checked the yoke, no problem, in calibrating, the button works fine, also to release the brakes, you can push it once, and it works, but that is the only time.I cannot get the brakes to work again from that button, no matter what I do. Parking brakes work fine, auto brakes fine, but the sim will not 'see' the brake button after one time. I've checked the 'repeat' and it is where it should be . . . wonder what is going on.Anyone else with this problem?best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. February 16, 200521 yr Hi Guy's.my problem now turns out to be somewhat similar to Clay's one, I have a button on the joystick that will "Set" the parking button,I CAN use my trigger button to release the brakes once there set to park, but this same button will not then apply brakes after that, example, I use the trigger to apply brakes with the repeat set all the way to the right, but it does nothing at all, but it will release the parking brake after I have used the other hat switch which has always been used as a "set parking Brake".I find this all very weird, and this was happening on the last install of FS9 that I had before my re-format,BUT, I have wondered if this could be anything to do with FSUIPC that Mr Pete Dowson is unaware of, I might just drop him a line as he's a nice bloke that might want to be made aware of, or know something about this.I'll let you guy's know what happens.
February 16, 200521 yr Hello Steve,You know, I never thought of that, I'm going to see if I have an earlier version of FSUIPC and see if that solves the problem. As that is the ONLY upgrade to the 'system' I have done since this started. Not a bad idea at all. Will advise.Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. February 16, 200521 yr Steve,FSUIPC was the problem. I switched to an earlier version from the latest and the brake problem went away. So your' informing PD is correct as there is a slight problem with the latest version of FSUIPS.Glad you brought this up as I would have NEVER thought of the module.Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. February 16, 200521 yr I don't think it is the version of FSUIPC that is the problem. I had the same issue (and discussed it in another thread). I reinstalled the latest version of FSUIPC (and even transferred the joystick assignments from the old .ini. file to the new) and everything was fine. Randall
February 16, 200521 yr Guy'sPD is aware of the problem and working on it, aparantly it IS an FSUIPC issue, he should be releasing an up-dated version tomorrow (Thursday)cheers
