May 11, 201412 yr I am doing a reinstall of FSX on a new machine, and want to upgrade my AIRAC cycle to 1405. Is the order below the correct way? 1) Install FSX + Acceleration 2) Go to http://www.gbmitch.net/ to download and install airac1401 (to update FSX database) 3) Go to http://www.aero.sors.fr/navint.html and download and install the WorldFixes (AIRAC1405 and fix magnetic variation issues) 4) Using my subscription at http://www.navigraph.com/ download and install AIRAC 1405 for my planes and flight planners Is that what I should do, and the proper order?I realize that everything will not be 1405, but the best for FSX i can locate is 1401. Also, do I need to run MakeRwys after this, or is that only when I add scenery? Which reminds me, does installing new scenery undo any of the above? Thanks and Regards!
May 11, 201412 yr Commercial Member Everything you listed is acceptable, in the correct order, including running Make Runways (which I believe is really for scenery vs. AIRAC). I'm one of those who won't use Acceleration (Google is your friend for that) and prefer Deluxe. But short of that, you should be good to go. Happy flying. May 11, 201412 yr Author Hmm, one more question.... On http://www.aero.sors.fr/navint.html they have + World Fixes Package (WorldINT.zip) + World Navaids (FSXP3D_WorldNavaids.zip) + Updated Magvar data (MagDec_Update.zip) In what order should they be applied?
May 11, 201412 yr Author Update: I got the answer from Hervé Sors himself, and I will post it here in case anyone else needs to know: "Forgot le last one (Magvar) that will be updated anyway when installing navaids (ensure to select the option). There is no order for the 2 first ones. They are independant"
