SIDs and STARs report [Solved]

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm having some trouble with the sid and start report.

I load a flight plan (KSEA - KPDX), start the flight, select SID and STAR report from the sim menu and I get - "no SID and STAR data found" in the report.

Using OPUS 3.47.0 with P3D v2.2.  Under flight plan options I point to a folder that contains the following Nav data files:

apps.txt

apts.txt

awys.txt

cycle_info.txt

int.txt

navs.txt

sids.txt

stars.txt

AIRAC cycle    : 1205  (from Qualitywings)

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, the above list of Navdata is not in a form that is accepted by OpusFSX. If you email me your sids.txt and stars.txt files I will see about including their filenames and file formats to the software.

In fact none of your data files are currently supported in OpusFSX which recognises the standard NaviGraph NAVDATA. Are you sure you don't have a <SIM>\PMDG\NAVDATA folder you can specify and reload in the OpusFSX Flight Plan dialog.

Thanks Stephen for the quick reply.

Sounds like a lot of work.

Could I just make a copy of the files, put them in the OPUS Navdata folder and change the filenames to an accepted form (if its just a filename issue)?  A file format issue would be more complicated to deal with.

Hi Ken,

No unfortunately since most NAVDATA contains all the SIDs and STARs in a single folder containing a separate ICAO.txt files, one for each airport.

Stephen

For example, the <SIM>\PMDG\SIDSTARS folder.

You could still email me a copy of all your files for future reference then I will add support for them in the future some time.

Stephen

If you have some PMDG NavData installed in your sim folder then just specify the location of the <SIM>\PMDG\NAVDATA folder in the Opus dialog and click on the Reload button. The software will look for a <SIM>\PMDG\SIDSTARS folder automatically for the SID and STAR data.

I find this data essential, especially when flying to a new airport, mostly laziness as I don't want to download and consult the charts, instead I just select an appropriate SID (using the listed Headings in the Opus report), and an appropriate STAR (using the listed Direction in the Opus report).

This problem was solved after specifying the location of the <SIM>\PMDG\NAVDATA folder in the Opus FP dialog and click on the Reload button.
