May 22, 201412 yr Hello, I recently installed a 1t hard drive soley for fsx. I was in the process of installing orbx ireland when it finished I got a FTX central error about a missing Texture file , so I tried to reinstall the scenery. I still got the error so I went to look at the drive. There is one directory called Microsoft games. which is 5.25 GB. it contains files called effects, flights, orbx, scenery, sound, texture, weather. When I look at properties of the drive it says I have used 394 gb. I look to uninstall and all the programs are still listed, but the shortcuts are all dead. What should I do.Unfortunately ORBX website is blocked by my work, hence why I am asking here.
May 22, 201412 yr More than likely you have more than one missing texture file. FSX is located in Microsoft Games (Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X) unless you installed FSX in a non-default drive like C:/FSX. Did you delete FSX? I do know that Orbx places some Autogen files in the FSX/scenery/world/scenery folder and most likely there are many in the FSX/texture folder too. You might have to reinstall FSX or do a repair. I've had FTX Central not starting up because the scenery.cfg got messed up. I have Scenery Config Editor and it will look for errors in the scenery.cfg whenever I start it up. AVSIM has a Unofficial Orbx/FTX Forum here on AVSIM and you might post your problem down there too. Your title says you are having crashes but your post does not indicate any crashes other than you just cannot install the program.
