Installing FSX Orbx airports into P3Dv2.2 using the EMT

Recommended Posts

I'm not going to post this at the official Orbx forums as I know the policy there. And they are quite right too - they have enough on their plates, and I entirely agree with their policy on this matter.

With that said, I'll ask here.

I've got several Orbx payware airports for Australia, which have yet to be given P3DV2 installers. They are:

YBAS - Alice Springs

YBRM - Broome

YBCS - Cairns

I bought them in the Orbx sale around Christmas time, on the assumption I'd soon be able to re-download them with P3Dv2 installers fitted. Unfortunately, its now June, and no sign of when they might be updated. I'm itching to do a bit of touring around Australia, so I'm thinking of installing these FSX airports into P3Dv2 using the Estonia Migrator Tool, and damn the torpedoes.

Has anyone gone down this route ? I'm not too concerned about graphics glitches ( I expect and accept them ). Rather, I'm concerned about what problems might arise with the functioning of P3Dv2 ( unhandled exceptions, that sort of thing ) and the functioning of the FTX tools such as FTX Central ( P3Dv2 ). Any experiences and /or warnings will be gratefully received.

If it's going to be too much aggravation, I'll have to wait for more news on the triple installers...but I'm losing hope.

I've held off trying. From what I understand, none of the "flow" dll's will work so many 3d objects and animations will be missing.

Hi Jimmi, yes I've heard similar things. I'm not too concerned about People Flow ( and the other 'Flows' ) however. I'm more concerned about whether the sim itself will suffer, with CTDs, freezes and lock-ups and so on. :)
