Problem with 6.34 - new to VOXATC

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am new to this voice ATC software, trying the VOXATC for the first time with its trial 7 days offer.

I have been flying my FSX with PMDG NGX, using ActiveSky Next weather for the past year and more without any issues.

Today, I tried VOXATC's tutorial VFR flight from Kansas to Eppey which after about 45 minutes into the flight, FSX stopped responding, needing to force quit both FSX and VOXATC.

Later I tried using my usual flight scenario with NGX from Zurich to Munich. During this flight, I had lots of problems. Out of no where, my autopilot would disengage without warning, not only once but multiple times. 2D overhead panel will open and pause the sim, and finally quitting the flight to try to reopen a "new flight" never allowing me to return to where I was.

In summary, FSX makes commands to itself chaotically.

Of note, I do not have my co-pilot setting on.

Appreciate any help, similar experiences, etc.

When you start FSX are you loading a "saved" flight situation with PMDG or other aircraft?

I opened my previously saved NGX flight (no VOXATC then), changed date/time using the FSX menu, then loaded the LSZH-EDDM flight plan created by PFPX and saved in FSX format. After then, I launched VOXATC using the instrument selection under the FSX menu.

I use this .. quoted from a google search:

"The FSX Safe Startup for Complex Aircraft flight will show in your regular Flights menu in FSX after installing. You can re-save the flight in a new location, with different weather and start up times, but do not change anything else when saving this flight.

Important! You MUST start FSX with this flight for it to be effective. If you start FSX with another flight, load this one, then go to your complex aircraft, you may get undesirable results."

Hmmm I have never heard of this file before. I know that switching back and forth between NGX and non-NGX airplane in the same flight can cause problems which I have avoided over the past 2 years of my NGX life, but never applied this SafeStartup.

What exactly does this do? And how is this affecting the VOXATC?

Kay,

What you are doing can cause all sorts of weird problems with FSX and any addon applications.

I knew what you were (possibly) doing when I read your post.

That's why I asked you one specific question in my first reply to you.

Go to the PMDG forums and ask them, as a double check, for their FSX startup procedure.

Thanks for the tip, every tip can help and I appreciate it.

What I tried a moment ago is to fly with default B58 from Buffalo to Rochester in VFR.

I tried C172 with VOXATC tutorial flight out of Kansas yesterday which ended with FSX crashing to desktop.

Today's B58 flight was successful.

One big difference other than the type of airplane, is yesterday I had my mic ON to recognize my voice

input not only VOXATC but the speech recognition for PC itself. Tonight that was left OFF.

Could my keeping it ON caused a conflict with my voice commanding to control FSX as well as

VOXATC input?
