1. Using your 1L and 1R, request etc., when I hit execute, actually, nothing showed up. No legs.  Nothing. Why?

Probably the issue that Ryan mentioned, which has since been fixed.

2. After adding sids and stars to the flight plan and following the same steps as in 1, the sids and stars showed up but no other waypoints.  I manually added them to see if it would work that way and it did. Why?

That's not really the proper way of going about it.  Route import first, then modify route.  I can't think of a time you'd enter the SID/STAR ahead of time and then attempt to import a route. Regardless, if it allowed you to enter the SID/STAR, import a route with no legs, and then still allowed you to manually enter route legs, it's working "correctly" (and I'm using quotes there because the concept is correct, even though it's importing a route with no legs because of the bug mentioned when I answered your point 1, which is incorrect).

Thanks for the quick response even though it appears you're very busy today.

That pretty much explains everything for me.  Now, I can just sit back (theoretically) and wait for SP 1.

By the way, any idea how long R.R.'s recovery might take?

It'll probably be slow going.  I'll defer to his pinned thread in the general forum, though.
