I live around IAH and go spotting quite often, today I got a shot I'm particularly proud of and thought y'all might enjoy it, especially with the upcoming PMDG 'W' (and don't worry - this is the first livery on my list to paint).

 

Got a last minute alert on my phone while out to lunch alerting me B-2035 was only an hour out. I hovered near the highway entrance halfway between my spotting place for runway 8L and the parking garage area for runway 8R (Hardy toll road at Rankin Road for those who want to have a look) knowing that it could get either.

 

Initially the controller gave it 8L  <_<   , but then they requested a right turn to avoid weather, and at that point the controller switched them over to 8R  B)   so I hurried up to the terminal A/B parking garage for this shot.

 

The touchdown was really amazing, probably top 5 smoothest 777 touchdowns I've ever seen. I also noticed a lower pitch, "hot shot"-tone to the pilot's voice as they read back "november alpha, november kilo, to north ramp, Air China 995." Like "Yeah, I just landed this thing like a pro."
