  1. Any updates? Pretty frustrating to have spent money on a misplaced airport.
  2. I'm very proud of this repaint, a lot of very hard work went into making it a reality! B) Hope you all enjoy it!
  3. Back pressure for rotation isn't the issue. The issue is forward pressure on climbout. You can clearly see in that video there that the pilot doesn't push the column forward much, if at all. Whereas I'm having to push all the way forward to follow the flight director, and trimming doesn't alleviate this.
  4. I'm seeing this as well. Trimming down doesn't seem to have an effect at all on climb out, I need to give it near-full elevator down pressure on the control column.

Just sent it off to the AVSIM library.

Thanks all. I'm actually a big fan of 9V-SWI and SWJ myself, so yes I'll definitely do this. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you Richard! This one's now in the library. I've just uploaded Saudia's HZ-AK22 to the library as well, it should be available momentarily.

Just uploaded to AVSIM ^_^ In the meantime, here's a link... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23737560/FTG/B-2035/B-2035.zip
  9. Great news! I'm ready to knock out B-2035 (Smiling China) ^_^
  10. This is far too exciting. Thanks for the update!
  11. Very excited! Glad to have you back.
  12. There's a very good animation from the NTSB on the youtubes. Not wanting to start a debate or anything, but had the 777 had the signature Airbus alpha-floor, flight envelope protection, I believe we wouldn't have had a crash. Both Airbus and Boeing philosophies have their own ups and downs. On one hand, hard flight envelope protection would've saved this aircraft, on the other hand pilots would become complacent and begin depending on flight envelope protection (Air France A330). I agree the pilot's didn't understand the airplane, and were primarily at fault for this incident. The fact that he pushed flight level change, and then seconds later disconnected the autopilot is just unbelievable. A simple act of switching autopilot modes for really no reason caused this. Of course a continuous scan of cockpit instruments should've picked up on the error. I think the NTSB made a great call by recommending airline procedures instruct pilots to switch off flight directors when not following them. Perhaps Boeing should consider changing the "HOLD" phraseology to something along the lines of "MAN" for manual, since it could easily be interpreted as "Holding Airspeed".
  13. Just wanted to add this video (not mine) to illustrate. SWA 735 out of DAL, stationary at the gate to taxiing under own power in just 2 minutes. Too many factors to please all of the people all of the time, which is why I'm really looking forward to a customizable solution.
  14. Haha. Okay Mr. Rodgers, I'm not going to argue with you. Hey you make it a great day, okay? ^_^
  15. I'll add that I'm not throwing out random timings as some random internet commenter with no clue. That's great that your real world experiences match those that GSX provide in-sim. Unfortunately they don't match my extensive real world experiences. I can tell we're not going to get anywhere though, so agree to disagree. ^_^ I'll grab some video next time out and put it up side by side with some sim recordings for a more direct comparison.
  16. You're missing me. I'm not saying make it go as fast as I want, I'm saying give me the option to make it as fast as I know it is in real life. On Southwest flights out of Hobby, we're stationary for maybe a minute or two after a brief push straight back to the taxiline, then it's a bit of thrust to get to the runway quickly. That said, GSX takes a different amount of time depending on whether the AFCAD defines the gate as small, medium, or heavy. Perhaps you're thinking I'm referring to the small spot pushback. That push is actually pretty good, but with the heavy and medium size it gets pretty ridiculously long to get off the gate, to the point where I don't even light the starters till they've finished pushing and start their disconnect, pull-away, dance, pull back in routine.
  17. GSX sucks big time as far as pushback goes (which is the most critical thing to get right imo). It's really all about customization, if this utility can offer us the following then I believe it will be the gold standard for ground service add-ons. 1) Custom pushback paths eg push straight back on the hard stand, push into the alleyway, push out of the alleyway, push face west/east/tail north/face south, push to spot romeo, etc. 2) Custom pushback speed. GSX is agonizing to sit there for a good 10 minutes while they "push" you at a blistering 1mph, then disconnect, reverse as slow as possible, then the little guy does a dance and gets on the tug just to go back towards you to get to the gate.... what?! We're burning fuel over here! 3) A variety of pushback behaviors eg disconnect as quickly as possible, get the tug out of the way, and have a single ground agent stand near the nosegear to 'send off' the aircraft. 4) Tow in to the gate. 5) Reposition. It'd be great to mimic the behaviors of many of the LAX flights, or our Air China flight here in Houston where you load up at a remote stand, start from cold and dark, request a reposition to the gate, then board baggage/pax, do the preflight, push and go. I get particularly frustrated using GSX to push my SWA flights. More often than not I find myself thinking "I ain't got time for this, I've got six more legs on this flight!"
  18. Yet here you are, taking part in this forum.
  19. Very cool! I'm normally not around Rankin that time of day due to the lighting, but these came out pretty nice! I'm pretty sure this was UA201 to Honolulu, only pmUA 777 departure IAH has, and one of three morning 777 departures; other two being pmCO to Narita as UA1 and UA7.
  20. I live around IAH and go spotting quite often, today I got a shot I'm particularly proud of and thought y'all might enjoy it, especially with the upcoming PMDG 'W' (and don't worry - this is the first livery on my list to paint). Got a last minute alert on my phone while out to lunch alerting me B-2035 was only an hour out. I hovered near the highway entrance halfway between my spotting place for runway 8L and the parking garage area for runway 8R (Hardy toll road at Rankin Road for those who want to have a look) knowing that it could get either. Initially the controller gave it 8L <_< , but then they requested a right turn to avoid weather, and at that point the controller switched them over to 8R B) so I hurried up to the terminal A/B parking garage for this shot. The touchdown was really amazing, probably top 5 smoothest 777 touchdowns I've ever seen. I also noticed a lower pitch, "hot shot"-tone to the pilot's voice as they read back "november alpha, november kilo, to north ramp, Air China 995." Like "Yeah, I just landed this thing like a pro." Presented in glorious 4k! Shameless plug for more of my photos - http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?photographersearch=Kevin%20Boydston
  21. I believe most of the -300s in WN's fleet are actually equipped with APB winglets.
  22. Wow, the doctor's really did mean soon! Wonderful news, and I wish Rob the quickest of recoveries.
  23. If anything I'd like to see wx via company acars  That'd be so cool. Or whenever a failure takes place, or an erroneous eicas message pops up you get a ding dong message in the company page with someone saying "We've noted the (insert error) message and we'll have mechanics on station to meet your airplane" or for more serious incidents "We see the issue, try this or that or perhaps this to resolve the issue", and then there can be some rudimentary "AI" system that responds to your responses so if you say "We tried this, it didn't work" they'll come back with "Well, we're out. Hey good luck!" or if you're bored and send a joke to dispatch they'll ding dong back with "lol". That'd be sweet.
  24. Haha, we're pulling out the definition of "week" for this one! Seriously though, I'm in physical need of an update. The anxiety is contributing to the detriment of my health.
