FSX reliant on CPU or graphics cards

Featured Replies

Hi,

I´m using an OC´ed Phenom II X6 1100t BE, which has same single-core performance as the FX8350. To avoid jaggies and blurries I use very high levels of AA, and my GTX 570 seems to handle that very well in partnership with my OC´ed Phenom 1100. In fact, my current system – yet a dinassaur – is extremely well balanced and handles most of what I throw at it.

Hence, if I were you, and wanted to keep the AMD CPU, I would look for a secondhand 570 or 580 card, and crank up the SGSS in Inspector. Be sure to have a 750W+ PSU.

Better still, skimp the whole rig, and go for a 4790K/GTX780 combo with 2x4 GB fast RAM. I am going there later this year.

BR
